I’m revealing a secret of mine that I’m very much obsessed with yogurt. This creamy tart is great in many ways. I love to have this plain yogurt after every meal and even sometimes I add fresh fruits to the whole tub and enjoy it. So, today I’m sharing how to prepare it at home.

Ingredients
  • ½ gallon Milk
  • 3 tablespoon Starter culture
Instructions
  1. In a stainless-steel pot, heat the milk over medium heat.

  2. Now pour the heated milk into a clean jar and cool it either by sitting on the counter or in a cool water bath.

  3. Then add starter culture, 2 tablespoons per quart of milk.

  4. Lightly stir just enough to incorporate into the milk.

  5. Place the jar in the oven with the flame on for 12 to 24 hours.

  6. The flame should provide consistent heat for about 110° C.

  7. NOTE

If you want to avoid constant flame then create a warm environment by making it in a casserole.

  8. Now put the jar into the refrigerator until the yogurt is cold and set.

  9. Once the yogurt is set, you can pour off the liquid whey from the top or strain the yogurt using a cheesecloth for a thicker consistency.

SERVE
  1. The homemade yogurt is ready. Now you can have it anytime by taking out from the refrigerator or you can use it in various dishes.

OUR DINE TABLE
  1. Having yogurt daily is very beneficial for burning calorie and to maintain a healthy life. It’s very helpful and is better to have every meal. Being a nutritionist, I always prescribe my patient to have it daily and especially make your kid a daily habit of having it. Yogurt is also used in many marinates which helps to enhance the taste of the dish.
