Phyllo dough is one of the basic ingredients for making confectionery items and for preparing any confectionery item at home. We often buy the frozen phyllo dough from the shop to prepare the dishes. I personally prefer the homemade as it has a fresher taste and also makes the item crispy and crunchy from outside. So guys, after learning from the post take an oath, “I’ll never ever buy frozen phyllo”.

  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1⁄3 cup Water
  • ¼ cup Olive oil
  • 4 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  1. Sift flour and salt into a bowl.

  2. Then add oil to it and mix it with your hand.

  3. Now make a well of it and pour the water.

  4. Mix them well until the forms a soft dough.

  5. Then knead it for about 10 minutes.

  6. At first, make the dough sticky, then continue kneading and develop the dough into smooth and satiny.

  7. When the dough becomes smooth, wrap it with plastic wrap and leave it for about 1 hour to rest at room temperature.
  1. The phyllo is ready. Now you can roll it out according to your desired recipe using a roller pin and if not using at that very moment, then wrap the unused portion and keep chilled in the fridge for up to a week. You can use this phyllo for many preparations like Puff Pastry, Baklava, Pies, Lamb Pasties and even for many sweets.
