Ingredients
  • 1 oz (25 g) Butter
  • 1 oz (25 g) Plain flour
  • 20 fl oz (600 ml) Milk
  • Salt to taste
  • White pepper powder to taste
Instructions
  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan.

  2. Add the flour and stir it constantly for about 1 to 2 minutes to avoid lump.

  3. Now take the pan off the heat and gradually stir in the milk to get a smooth sauce.

  4. Again retain the heat and stir it constantly and bring to the boil.

  5. Simmer gently for 8 to 10 minutes.

  6. Season with salt and pepper and stir it constantly until it becomes thicker.

  7. Your white sauce is ready.

  1. This is a classic white sauce and it can be used as a base for lots of dishes. I prefer it for Macaroni, Pasta, and Cheese Dishes. The white sauce is very easy to make. It is rich and delicious and we can indulge once in a while.
