  • 6 tablespoon Flour
  • 4 tablespoon Butter
Instructions
  1. Heat butter over the medium-high heat.

  2. Then add the flour all at once.

  3. Whisk it continuously to avoid lump.

  4. When the mixture thins and starts to bubble, reduce the heat to low and cook until you smell a toasty aroma.

  5. Then cook for more 2 minutes stirring it occasionally.

  1. Your roux is ready. Use it immediately to thicken the soup or sauce which is at below room temperature. If you thicken a hot soup then allow the roux to cool or vice versa. You can also refrigerate it for up to 1 month.
