Last night I visited an Indian Dhaba and had this recipe. It tasted awesome. The smoky flavor of the chicken mesmerized my taste buds. If you haven’t tasted Rolls of India, it’s hard to explain the divine taste. They are extremely delicious and you will be bound to recall their taste. It’s time to get cooking.

If you haven’t tasted Rolls of India, it’s hard to explain the divine taste. They are extremely delicious and you will be bound to recall their taste. It’s time to get cooking.

Ingredients
  • 9 oz (250 grams) Chicken boneless, without skin and cut into small pieces
  • 2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Yogurt
  • 1 ½ tablespoon Tandoori Masala
  • 2 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice
  • 2 medium Onions thinly sliced
  • Finely chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
  • ½ teaspoon Butter
  • Chaat masala for garnishing; optional
FOR MAKING THE ROLL SHELL
  • 1 cup Flour
  • Hot water
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • Oil to fry
Instructions
  1. First marinate the chicken with tandoori masala, salt, yogurt, chili powder, turmeric and ginger-garlic paste.

  2. Add this mixture to the chicken and mix well.

  3. Now cover it and set aside in the refrigerator to marinate for minimum 2 hours.

  4. After it gets marinated, take it out at room temperature.

  5. Then in a grill pan or skillet, heat oil.

  6. When the oil is heated, add the marinated chicken and let it cook covered for 10 minutes.

  7. NOTE

    Boneless pieces cook faster. So do not overcook.

  8. Keep stirring to avoid burning.

  9. NOTE

    If it sticks to the pan, then sprinkle little water.

  10. When it is cooked, remove from heat, add the butter and set aside to cool.

NOW LET’S PREPARE THE ROLL SHELL
  1. In a bowl, take flour, salt and add hot water for kneading.

  2. Start kneading it until it forms a soft dough.

  3. Roll out flat round using a rolling pin.

  4. Then fry on the griddle by using oil.

  5. NOTE

    It should be well fried.

FOR ASSEMBLING
  1. To assemble, place the roll shell on a flat surface.

  2. Now mix onion and lime juice and spread about 1 tablespoon of this mix on to the roll.

  3. Then add the cooked chicken and garnish it with coriander leaves and chat masala.

  4. Now roll it up tightly and secure with a toothpick.
SERVE
  1. Your tandoori chicken roll is ready to be served hot.
