Steamed Chicken

I formerly disclosed that I love steamed foods, especially during summer. I’m not a diet freak but I love to stay healthy. During my high school days, when I was to stay in boarding I gathered many steamed food recipes and I tried them out simply because they are simply quick and always tender in texture. So today I’m going to share a recipe from that list.

Course: Healthy, Meats, Steamed
Cuisine: Chinese
Servings: 4 people
Calories: 117 kcal
Ingredients
  • 1 lb (450 gram) Chicken
  • 1 tablespoon Green onion shreds only white part
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger shreds
FOR MARINATING SAUCE
  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese cooking wine
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
FOR THE DIP
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
  • 4 tablespoon Water
  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Green onions chopped
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
Instructions
  1. Clean the chicken and spread the marinating sauce evenly on both sides.

  2. Now lay ginger shreds and green onion shreds over the chicken to marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. After marination, place them in your steamer.

  4. NOTE

If you are using a steamer with wok or pot, steam with high fire around 20 to 30 minutes. To check whether it is done, insert a chopstick.

  5. When it is done, transfer out and cut into chunks of your favorite size and decorate with green onion.

FOR MAKING THE DIPPING SAUCE
  1. In a saucepan heat 1 tablespoon sesame oil and stir fry chopped garlic and green onion until the aroma comes out.

  2. Then add the oyster sauce, light soy sauce, and water.

  3. Mix well and bring all the ingredients to a boiling.

  4. Now transfer the dip into a dipping bowl and cool down a bit.

SERVE
  1. When the dip is cool serve the steamed chicken with the dipping sauce.

OUR DINE TABLE
  1. This method of cooking highly recommends simplifying the process and saving energy. If you are not in hurry, I would suggest preparing the chicken in the morning and have this for lunch or dinner. You will feel the tenderness of the chicken and for gym freak guys, it’s better to change your taste by having this rather having boiled chicken every day.
