There are varieties of tortillas sold in the market and each has its own identical usage. I have already shared corn tortillas with you all and today I’m going to share homemade spinach tortillas to meet my health goals of the year. I always keep tortillas ready well in advance so that whenever I feel for a tasty breakfast, I can use it.

I always keep tortillas ready well in advance so that whenever I feel for a tasty breakfast, I can use it.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 cups Spinach
  • ¼ cup Vegetable oil
Instructions
  1. In a pot heat water.

  2. Once the water comes to boil, add the spinach and simmer the heat.

  3. Now boil the spinach for 2 minutes then drain the water and run the spinach under the cold water.

  4. Then in a blender, add the boiled spinach and blend it to make a smooth paste and keep it aside.

  5. In a bowl add flour, baking powder, vegetable oil and salt and combine them very well with your hand.

  6. Now add the spinach puree and mix it very well.

  7. Then add little water, as per required and knead a soft dough.

  8. Cover the dough with a cloth and keep it aside for 20 minutes.

  9. Then divide the dough into 8 equal parts.

  10. Dust with little flour and roll each part to make a 10-inch disc.

  11. Now heat a griddle.

  12. Once the griddle turns hot, transfer the tortilla on the hot griddle and toast it on both sides until brown spots appear.

  13. Follow the same steps for rest of the tortillas.

  14. Once it is done, flip it off and wrap in a plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.

  1. It’s a healthy version of tortillas. As we all know spinach is good for health as well as for our hair and skin. Being a nutritionist, I always prescribe to people to include more and more spinach to diet. You can easily bake these tortillas at home and serve it as your favorite wrap, rolls or quesadillas.
