In my home whenever I prepare this salmon cake, it always disappears in a flash as it is well loved by my family members. Those who don’t like fish, I hope they will like it because there isn’t a hint of fishiness in them. It’s a very spicy salmon recipe and the smart part is, even you can prepare it with leftover cooked salmon.
In my home whenever I prepare this salmon cake, it always disappears in a flash as it is well loved by my family members.
- 1 lb (450 gram) Fresh salmon fillets
- 1 Medium onion diced
- 2 Large eggs lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ cup Fresh parsley minced
- 3 tablespoon Mayonnaise
- 3 tablespoon Butter
- Black salt for seasoning
- Garlic salt for seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- ½ Red bell pepper diced
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs
Firstly preheat the oven to 420° F or 215° C.
Then line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Now place the salmon, skin side down.
Brush it with olive oil and season it with garlic salt and black pepper.
Bake it uncovered for 15 minutes or until cooked through.
Then remove it from oven, cover it with aluminum foil and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Discard the skin, remove the bones, flake the salmon fork and cool it to room temperature.
Meanwhile, heat a medium skillet over medium heat.
Add olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter.
Then add the onion and bell pepper diced.
Sauté it until it turns softened, for about 9 minutes.
Then remove it from heat.
Now in a mixing bowl, add the cool flaked salmon, sautéed onion, and pepper, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, mayonnaise, Worcestershire Sauce, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon garlic salt and the chopped parsley.
Combine them very well and make 13 patties.
Press with your palm to make evenly thick patties.
Now in a pan, add oil and 1 tablespoon butter.
When it turns hot, add the salmon cakes in batches.
Fry it for 4 minutes per side, until it turns golden brown and cooked through.
Once done, drain it to a paper towel.
The crispy fried salmon cakes are ready for a flavorful bite.
Though I prepared it myself, hands down, these are the best salmon cake I’ve ever prepared. In each and every bite you will get the flavor of all the ingredients and as the salmon has been baked, it turned out to be a sophisticated flesh with a delicate touch. Rather having it with any other dip, it’s better to have it with Tartar Sauce which will make major cravings for these salmon cakes.
