Puff Pastry

In a confectionery shop, puff pastry items are top listed. I already shared that I have a known confectionery uncle and I really feel lucky enough that from him I came to know the secret shells of many confectionery items. As the confectionery items are very sweet and eager us for sharing, so I felt like to share.

Course: Additional Recipes
Ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 9 oz (250 gram) Butter
  • 5 fl oz (150 ml) Coldwater
  • 9 oz (250 gram) Plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon Powdered sugar
Instructions
  1. Sift the flour in a bowl and add the salt in it.

  2. Now roughly break the butter into small chunks.

  3. Add them to the flour and rub them in loosely.

  4. Now make a well in the bowl and pour 2⁄3 rd of the cold water and mix it to make a firm rough dough.

  5. NOTE

If needed you can add extra water.

  6. Cover it with a plastic wrap and leave it to rest for 20 minutes in the fridge.

  7. Now on to a lightly floured board, turn out the dough and knead it gently and form it into a smooth rectangle.

  8. Roll the dough in one direction until it becomes 3 times in width, about 20 to 50 cm.

  9. Keep the edges straight and even.

  10. Now fold the top third down to the center, then the bottom third up.

  11. Give the dough a quarter turn to the left or right and brush it with butter.

  12. Then roll out again three times the length.

  13. Now fold it as before and cover it with plastic wrap and chill it for at least 20 minutes before rolling to use.

  14. Once chilled, take it out from the freezer and make any puff you like.

OUR PANTRY
  1. When I first tried out I was too scared to make my first own puff pastry cake. But once it was done, I can’t believe that it turned out so well. I’m very happy that now I can make my very own puff pastry sheet to make my very own puff. Now it’s for all of you, try your own hands on them.
