Ingredients
  • ½ cup Kosher salt
  • 8 to 10 Whole lemon
  • ¼ cup Granulated sugar optional
Instructions
  1. Split each lemon lengthwise into quarters, keeping each quarter connected at the base.

  2. Now keep it in a bowl.

  3. Add the salt and sugar and toss it.

  4. Then cover with a plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

  5. NOTE

    Next day you will find the lemons have released a lot of juice.

  6. Now take a sterilized jar and transfer the entire content of the bowl into the jar.

  7. Press the lemons firmly downward so that they are submerged in the juices.

  1. Now seal the jar with a lid and store in the refrigerator for at least 2 weeks and up to 6 months. This preserved lemon recipe will be your workhorse in your pantry. After adding it to your recipe you will get the same intense lemon flavor as you get from fresh lemons.
