Potsticker

Emma, my Korean friend told me that they prepare potsticker at home, at least once a week. So, it is no surprise to them. I always had to order potsticker when I eat out at any Asian restaurants. So, I felt that why not to try at home as I have already know the details of this recipe from Emma. Here you have it.

Course: Appetizers, Meats
Cuisine: Korean
Servings: 6 people
Calories: 300 kcal
Ingredients
  • 1 cup Green cabbage shredded
  • 3 oz (85 gram) Shiitake mushroom diced
  • 1 lb (450 gram) Ground Pork
  • 2 cloves Garlic pressed
  • 2 Green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha or more to taste
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
  • ¼ teaspoon White pepper
  • 36 Wonton wrappers
FOR THE SAUCE
  • ½ cup Soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoon Chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Rice wine vinegar
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl mix pork, cabbage, mushroom, garlic, green onions, Hoisin, ginger, sesame oil, sriracha and white pepper.

TO PREPARE THE SAUCE
  1. In a bowl mix all the sauce ingredients and stir it well and chill it until needed.

TO ASSEMBLE THE DUMPLINGS
  1. On the work surface, place the Wonton Wrappers.

  2. Put 1 tablespoon of the pork mixture into the center of each wrapper.

  3. By using your finger rub the edges of the wrappers with water.

  4. Now fold the wrapper over the filling to create a half-moon shape by pinching the edges to seal.

TO PREPARE THE POTSTICKERS
  1. Now in a large skillet heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.

  2. Then add the potstickers in a single layer and fry them until they are golden and crisp, for about 2 to 3 minutes per side.

SERVE
  1. Your potstickers are ready, place them on the plate and serve immediately with the sauce.

OUR DINE TABLE
  1. I found these homemade potstickers are very easy to prepare and they taste far better than the store bought one. You can feel free to add your favorite veggies or another kind of ground meat that you have on hand. There is another way you can even make a huge batch of potstickers, pop them right in the freezer and use them later for other recipes. When you are ready to eat you can toss them right on to the skillet without thawing; it may take longer time than usual.
