This tartlet recipe was first introduced to me by my brother’s girlfriend, Kalki. Presently she lives in France and has learned many French dishes. From her French collection, she shared this recipe with me. Frankly, at the first sight, I fell in love with it by its look and the love went eternal by tasting it.

Ingredients
  • 6 tablespoon Tomato paste
  • 8.8 oz (250 gram) Puff pastry
  • 4.4 oz (125 gram) Mozzarella cheese diced
  • 3 plum Tomatoes de-seeded and roughly chopped
  • 1 Garlic clove finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Pine nuts
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • 8 Pitted black olive roughly chopped
  • 2 tablespoon Chopped oregano
  • Little Flour
Instructions
  1. Line a baking sheet with a baking paper.

  2. Now roll out the pastry on a lightly floured work surface in 1⁄8 inch thick.

  3. Use a 12 cm round cutter to cut out 6 rounds and lay on the baking sheet.

  4. Then spread 1 tablespoon tomato paste over each pastry round.

  5. Now take a small bowl and combine together the plum tomatoes, mozzarella, garlic, olive, oregano, pine nuts and season it with salt and pepper.

  6. Then pour the mixture between the pastry round.

  7. Drizzle little olive oil over each tartlet and bake in a preheated oven of 400⁰ F or 200⁰ C, until the pastry is golden.

SERVE
  1. Once done, take out immediately and serve.
