Ingredients
  • 1 Egg
  • ¼ cup Parmesan shredded
  • 2 Medium russet potatoes peeled and shredded
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 cup Oil for frying
  • ½ teaspoon Dried basil
  • 2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3 tablespoon Chives thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoon All-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon Chili powder
Instructions
  1. Firstly, rinse the shredded potatoes.

  2. Then drain and squeeze it dry and keep it aside in a bowl.

  3. In another bowl, whisk the egg, chives, parmesan, flour, salt, chili powder, cumin, basil, and pepper.

  4. Then add the shredded potatoes in it and mix it until evenly distributed.

  5. Now take a pan and heat oil over medium-high heat.

  6. Once the oil turns very hot, scoop out ¼ cup potato mixture into the pan and flatten it to a ½ inch thick layer.

  7. Fry it until they are nicely browned on the bottom.

  8. Then flip it over the other side and make brown on the other side; at least 5 minutes per side.

SERVE
  1. Once done, drain it on a paper towel and serve the hot hash brown immediately by sprinkling some black pepper.
