If you remember places for the scenery, I remember them for the aromas. Laugh if you must, but for a foody like me, Greek is about the hot juicy grilled juicy burger. Hell, I even select airlines for the aromas that waft across the sky supper on offer. So before I start off the recipe, here is an advice. Follow the aroma; it will take you places…
Laugh if you must, but for a foody like me, Greek is about the hot juicy grilled juicy burger.
- 1 lb (450 gram) Ground chicken
- 1 Egg
- ½ cup Dry breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon Sun-dried tomatoes chopped
- 3 teaspoon Fresh oregano chopped
- 1 tablespoon Fresh basil chopped
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 2 oz (50 gram) Crumbled feta cheese
Preheat an outdoor grill over medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
Now in a bowl mix the chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, lemon juice, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, oregano salt, and pepper.
Then form the mixture into 5 patties.
Now divide the feta cheese between the 5 patties.
Place a portion of the feta cheese atop on each patty and fold the chicken mixture around the cheese so that the cheese is in the center.
Now cook on the preheated grill until no longer pink on inside and juices come out; for about 5 to 7 minutes per side.
You can also use aluminum foil which will keep the food moist, and it ensures the food is cooked evenly.
The grilled Greek Chicken Burger with Feta is ready to serve on the plate.
When I first ate this Greek Chicken Burger in 2008 – it is to die for. It doesn’t taste like it is doused with spices, the flavoring is so subtle and the spices are very mild. I have been planning to make another trip so that I can again go at this yummy dish.
