Ingredients
  • 1 Grapefruit plus more for garnishing
  • 2 cups of Ice
  • 36 fl oz (1 liter) Ginger soda
  • Handful of Fresh Basil
FOR BASIL SIMPLE SYRUP
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Fresh Basil
Instructions
FOR PREPARING THE BASIL SIMPLE SYRUP
  1. Place sugar and water in a small pan over medium heat, until sugar is fully dissolved; for about 2 minutes.

  2. Now add the basil and allow for steeping for 15 to 20 minutes and strain the basil.
  3. Then place the syrup in a glass container and chill for a couple of hours by covering it.
  4. NOTE

    If you want you can store it in the refrigerator for up to a month.

FOR PREPARING THE MIMOSA
  1. Make a juice of 1 large grapefruit.
  2. Then fill a pitcher half-way with ice.

  3. Then pour the soda, fresh grapefruit juice and ¼ cup of simple basil syrup, mix it well.

SERVE
  1. Garnish it with grapefruit slices and fresh basil before serving.
