I still remember when I used to go for an evening walk holding my dad’s hand, I used to have this chicken patties from a close uncle’s shop and I still cherish those memories. I used to wonder if I could make it at home then I could save my dad’s penny. So, one day I visited a bakery with that confectioner uncle and learned the art of making patties.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb (450 gram) Boneless chicken diced
  • 1 cup Onion finely chopped
  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 2 cups Unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Black pepper powder
  • 2 Egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoon Milk
Instructions
  1. In a bowl, mix all purpose flour, salt, and 1 cup butter and make a crumbly consistency.

  2. Now add some of the water and continue to mix to a crumbly mixture.

  3. NOTE

    Add some water if you think, till no dry particles remain.

  4. Then cover it with a plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.

  5. Now beat the butter into 6 inch square between 2 sheets of plastic.

  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle of 12 inch X 26 inch.

  7. Then place the butter in the center and fold first one end over, then the other end.

  8. Now roll the dough into long strip again, fold 1⁄3 from one end towards the center and then the other end.

  9. Repeat the steps twice more before using, as required.

  10. Now heat the butter, add the onions and sauté it until the onions are little tender.

  11. Then add the diced chicken, salt, and pepper and stir-fry till the chicken is tender.

  12. Roll the dough into 1 inch thick and cut into a rectangle.

  13. Now wet the edges and place the chicken mixture in 1 half and fold over.

  14. Then press to seal it.

  15. Brush the top with egg yolk mixed with 2 tablespoon milk and bake in a hot oven at 426⁰ F or 200⁰ C for 15 to 20 minutes.

SERVE
  1. After baking, place the chicken patties on a serving plate and serve it hot.
