While visiting a supermarket near my place, my eyes stuck on beautiful, fresh, tiny, red cutie pie and I couldn’t resist myself from buying it. I bought a packetful of cherries and I quickly jotted down through my all cherries recipes. Finally, I chose the cherry crisp recipe as it is quick and also requires very few ingredients which are already present in my kitchen.

- 1⁄3 cup Sugar
- 4 cups Frozen unsweetened pitted tart red cherries
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- 2 tablespoon Butter melted
- 1 cup Short bread cookies crumbled
- ¼ cup Almonds or pecans chopped
- Ice cream for garnishing; optional
In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cornstarch.
Then in a saucepan, add the cornstarch mixture and the cherries and start to combine over medium heat for 10 minutes or until thickened and bubbly.
Cook and stir it for 2 minutes more.
Meanwhile in another bowl, thoroughly combine the crumbled cookies, butter and nuts and place it aside.
Now divide the cherry mixture among 4 dessert dishes and sprinkle the cookies mixture over the cherry mixture.
Your quick cherry crisp is ready to serve along with ice cream for a luscious treat.
I hope it is clear to you that it really takes less time and fewer ingredients. If you have kids at your home, you can please them or surprise your hubby or wifey with this dessert platter.
