Ingredients
FOR THE TORTILLAS
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Baking powder
  • 2 cups Plain flour
  • 2 teaspoon Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ¾ cup Lukewarm milk
FOR THE FILLING
  • 17.5 oz (500 gram) Minced lamb
  • 4 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 4 Garlic cloves chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 3 Green chilies chopped
Instructions
FOR MAKING THE TORTILLAS
  1. In a mixing bowl, stir together the flour and the baking powder.

  2. Now in a separate bowl add the salt and vegetable oil to the lukewarm milk and whisk to incorporate.

  3. Then gradually add the milk to the flour and work the mixture into a dough; it will be sticky.

  4. Now turn the dough out onto a surface board dusted with flour and knead it for about 2 minutes.

  5. Return the dough to the bowl, cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.

  6. Now divide the dough into 8 balls of equal size, cover them and let them rest again for about 20 minutes.

  7. NOTE

    Avoid letting them touch each other.

  8. Dust your work surface with flour.

  9. Working one at a time, remove each piece of the dough ball and pat it into a 5-inch circle.

  10. With a rolling pin, roll out the tortilla working from the center out until you have a 7 to 8-inch tortilla and less than ¼ inch thick.

  11. Now switch on the flame and transfer the tortilla into the hot dry skillet, it will begin to blister.

  12. Let it be for 30 seconds, then turn it and let the other side done for 30 seconds.

  13. Then remove the tortilla and place it in a napkin-lined basket and cover with aluminum foil.

  14. Repeat the steps for the remaining tortillas.

FOR MAKING THE FILLING
  1. In a saucepan, heat the oil and add the minced lamb.

  2. Fry it for 8 minutes until browned.

  3. Then add the garlic, salt, oregano, and chilies and stir-fry for 3 minutes more; then remove from the flame.

NOW FOR MAKING THE WRAP
  1. Now preheat the oven to 700⁰ F or 400⁰ C.

  2. Spread butter on one side of each tortilla and place about 3 tablespoons of filling on each and roll up.

  3. Now place seam side down on a buttered baking dish.
  4. Then brush the wraps with melted butter.
  5. Place it in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown on the surface.
SERVE
  1. Place the burritos on a large plate and share it with your friends.
