Ingredients
  • 4 Medium onions
  • Oil to deep fry
  • 3 tablespoon Cornstarch
Instructions
  1. Firstly, peel the onions and then cut them in half and then thin slices.

  2. Now place the sliced onion on the kitchen towel and dab the onions well to get rid of the moisture.

  3. Separate the layers from one another.

  4. Now heat oil in a pan.

  5. Now take a sieve and place the onions in the sieve in batches and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of corn flour in each batch.

  6. NOTE

    Shake the sieve to get read of excess corn flour.

  7. Mix the onion slices to coat them well evenly with the cornstarch.

  8. When the oil turns very hot, drop the onions carefully in batches and fry it by stirring occasionally, for about 5 to 6 minutes.
  9. Now remove the onions on to a kitchen turn just when the edges turn golden brown.

  1. When it’s done, cool the fried onions before use, they will be crispy and crunchy. You can even store this in an airtight container and freeze them for further use. Beresta has great use especially in preparing Chicken and Mutton Dishes and also for preparing and garnishing Biryani. The real secret of beresta lies in the way of frying.
