Ingredients
FOR THE DOUGHNUTS
  • 5 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Yeast
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 3 ½ cup All-purpose flour divided
  • 1 ½ cup Diced apple
  • 6 slices Bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1⁄3 cup Granulated sugar
FOR THE GLAZE
  • 1 cup Maple syrup
  • 4 cups Powdered sugar
  • Water as required
Instructions
  1. In a bowl add the milk, yeast, sugar, butter and the egg and combine them well.

  2. Now add the ½ cup flour and stir it.

  3. Then add the remaining flour and salt to make a firm dough.

  4. Pour the dough on the work surface and knead it for 6 minutes.

  5. NOTE

    The dough will turn stick.

  6. Now add the bacon and apple and knead it until well incorporated.

  7. Then take a lightly oiled bowl, place the dough in it and cover it with a plastic wrap and rest it for 45 minutes.

  8. Then take the dough and turn on to a lightly floured surface.

  9. Fold the dough 1⁄3 from the bottom to the top of the dough.

  10. Then fold the top edge to the bottom edge.

  11. Fold 1⁄3 of the dough from right to the left.

  12. At last fold the left edge to the right edge.

  13. Now put the dough back in the oiled bowl and let it rest for 1 hour more until it is doubled.

  14. Then take a light floured work surface and place the dough on it.

  15. Put little flour on the top of the dough and by a rolling pin, roll the dough ½ inch thick.

  16. Take a round cutter and cut out the doughnut rounds making a hole in the center.

  17. Keep the doughnuts aside on a floured surface for 30 minutes.

  18. Meanwhile preheat oil in a deep fryer, around 350° F or 175° C.

  19. Then gently put doughnuts in batches into the hot oil.

  20. Fry the first side for 2 minutes and flip it over the other side until it is lightly golden brown.

  21. Once it is done, remove the doughnuts from the fryer and cool it on a cooling rack placed over a sheet tray.

MEANWHILE, PREPARE THE GLAZE
  1. In a bowl, add the powder sugar, maple syrup, and warm water.

  2. Combine it very well and the glaze is ready.

  3. Then dredge both sides of the doughnuts in maple glaze and keep it for some time for drying.

SERVE
  1. After it dries up, your bacon and apple doughnut is ready for having a fun time.

  1. Doughnuts are really mood charger for me and this doughnut brings back my childhood nostalgia which I am quite obsessed with. If you have never tried doughnut by using bacon, do it and double the fun of baking.
